| On Saturday, July 26th 41 area citizens and Red
River Watershed Association members and supporters of all ages gathered
together to take advantage of the recreational value of one of the
area’s most vital natural resources – the Red River.
The 2nd Annual Canoe Float trip, sponsored by the
Springfield Wal-Mart and Red River Valley Park, began in Adams, TN with a
four-hour float down the Red River. Participants
enjoyed the cool waters and wildlife viewing afforded by the River, as
well as a delicious barbeque lunch and bluegrass entertainment provided by
the Park, and the camaraderie of people in the community who are concerned
about the ecological health of the watershed.

Association hopes to continue to host this annual event in the future.
